Display of forum messages uncomfortableHi Skrol29 and others,
While looking for some answers on the forum I wonder why ALL references to a subject are listed. Is this a setting I am missing (I do not want to see the whole thread until I see a heading that specifically interests me)? Can you switch this 'feature' off so the number of messages shown decreases immensely and makes slecting the right thread much easier. Thanks for your solution and the great work you do with TBS!! Re: Display of forum messages uncomfortableBy the way, is there a to-do list for the forum? Because I'm missing preview, emoicons and automatic detection of url. :)

Re: Display of forum messages uncomfortableThey is an informal todo list :
-> edit/delete your own message if it is fresh (instead of preview) -> find a smart way to avoid the popup window (how ?) -> buttons to add code tags -> delete the Anti Spam System (no mail given anyway) -> url detection => but will probably make spam I can sent the source of current version for those who can contribute to this forum development. |

Re: Display of forum messages uncomfortableDoesn't sound complicated, though I've got too much projects on hand to offer real help. (struggling to update my smf forum mods...)
To be able to edit when it is still fresh, like digg, is even better then preview. =D To get rid of the popup, how about using an iframe or just append a form at bottom? Both can be handled with javascript, and for graceful degration the popup can be preserved when js is off. As a bonus, we can read the topic while replying. =) For url detection I mean detecting url in the message body, so that we don't need to copy & paste address to check it out. As long as mailto is left alone email spam shouldn't be a problem. (Or are we talking about forum spam?) |

Re: Display of forum messages uncomfortablePerhaps, even though this forum is to show of TBS' power, you could use bbpress (http://bbpress.org/) instead. It's a modern board with topic tags and stuff like that. Or you could try UseBB (www.usebb.net) which I found to be pretty easy to customize and fast. ;)
